MEET OUR TEACHERS

Ms. Lyla

Ms Lyla is originally from Tampa, FL but has lived in the Raleigh area since 2004. She has been married to her amazing husband, Philip, for 18 years and they have three kids, Isa, Carter, and Maia. Lyla earned her B.S. in Psychology with a focus on Child Development from The College of William & Mary and later earned her Birth-Kindergarten teaching license through ECU. Lyla has worked with young children in several capacities including as a nanny, child care provider, preschool teacher, and developmental therapist. She loves to work with children and their families and celebrating each step in a child’s development. In her limited free time, she loves to travel and work as an advocate for several causes that have influenced her life.

Ms. Betsey

Betsey was born and raised in Beaufort, NC.  She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Pawleys Island, SC was her home for 14 years before returning to Raleigh in 2000. She is blessed with two grown children, Stephen and Haley and her wonderful husband Michael (who does all the cooking). Besides teaching she has enjoyed careers as a travel consultant and realtor. During her free time she enjoys traveling and dancing. The beach is her happy place!  She is excited to meet your children and join the staff of Little Sprouts.

Ms Hunter

Ms Hunter  is originally from Maiden, NC and has been in the Raleigh area for several years now. She is married to her best friend, Jon, and has three children: Ryley, Heath, and Everly. She has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood: Teacher Associate Concentration. She also has her Early Childhood Credentials. She has fourteen years teaching experience in childcare and she has also worked with special needs children. During her free time she enjoy going to the mountains and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Hunter enjoys being part of our preschool community. 

 

Ms. Carolina

Ms Carolina is originally from Costa Rica where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in English teaching and has more than ten years teaching experience. Six years ago, her husband was invited to work at Friendship Baptist Church where he is leading the Hispanic Ministry and she has served as the Pastor’s wife since then. She works with the Ladies’ ministry among other ministry duties. In 2020 she got her bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. During her free time, she enjoys running, spending time with her husband, and traveling. Ms. Carolina is glad to be part of this preschool community.

Ms. Shannon 

Ms Shannon is from Fayetteville, NC and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.  She has called Raleigh home for the past twenty years.  Ms. Shannon taught in various educational settings over ten years before deciding to take time off to stay at home with her children.  She lives with her husband, Ray, and three children, Carly (14), Lucas (9), and Natalie (7).  Ms. Shannon has subbed and taught specials at our preschool and is valuable member of our preschool community!

 
Ms Katherine

Ms Katherine grew up north of Atlanta and moved to Raleigh about ten years ago. She considers herself a true city-girl. In college, she studied Early Childhood Education. She is married to Josh, and they have three little girls, Scarlet 7, Greta 5, and Susanna 2. For a long time Ms. Katherine was not a fan of dogs, but during Covid quarantine her heart softened, and they welcomed the sweetest black lab into their lives, Chandler Bing. Ms. Katherine also runs a small interior decorating business.  She is very extraverted. She loves to spend her time with her family and friends. She’s an enneagram 7 (always up for fun, adventures, and parties.) 

Ms Debbie

Ms Debbie was born and raised in West Palm Beach. Florida. After living for quite some time in Gwinnett county Georgia, she just recently moved to Wendell, NC.  She is married to Daniel and has three  children: Stephen, Brittany and Christina. She also has four grandchildren: Sofia, Riley, Emily and Lydia.  She has her Child Development Associate Credential and has been teaching for over 40 years in Early Childhood.  Ms Debbie has worked with a variety of ages and also special needs children.  During her free time she enjoys camping, reading, crafting and spending time with her family.

Ms. Breania

Ms Breania is a North Carolina native. She currently lives in Raleigh with her husband Zane, and son Lincoln. She received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood from Wake Tech, and is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree at UNCG. She previously worked as a teacher in a childcare center for several years. Working with children and facilitating their development is truly her passion. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and reading. Mrs. Breania enjoys being a part of the preschool family.

 
Ms Christina

Christina was born and raised in Philadelphia, but has also lived in other states from Arizona to Washington State. After moving to North Carolina to be closer to her family, she realized how rewarding it is to work with children, and she has been doing it ever since. Christina spends her down time working on her photography, tending to her garden, and making memories with her daughter, Margeaux. 

Ms. Robyn (Director)

Robyn is originally from Western New York, where she graduated from SUNY college at Fredonia with a degree in Elementary Education.  She moved to North Carolina to teach and now considers herself an honorary southerner after living here for over 20 years. Robyn has taught in various elementary grades in both Halifax and Wake County, and has been a reading intervention teacher.  Additionally, she has served as an educational director at a local tutoring center.  After some time away from teaching to raise her two sons, (currently 12 and 10 years old) she returned to education and teaching, then eventually joined the Little Sprouts Preschool family as the director.
